Using flours milled in our own traditional stone grinding mill, this blend delivers a distinctively nutty flavour, combined with moistness and a slight sweetness for a wheaten soda bread. Just add buttermilk. As no moulding is required, the mixture can simply be deposited directly into tins. High in fibre. Yeast free. No added preservatives.

Suggested Recipe

Millers Munch Soda Bread Mix: 1000g
Buttermilk: 750–850g
Shortening: 45g (optional)

Suggested Method:
1. This recipe is for a ‘no time dough’.
2. Mix by hand or with planetary mixer with beater tool or spiral mixer for 1–2 minutes until a lump-free porridge-like batter is achieved.
3. Note: If adding fruit or seeds, clear dried fruit or seeds through on slow speed at this stage.
4. Deposit dough directly into lightly greased rectangular tins.
5. Level slightly as required in the tin and top with kells Special Rolled Wheat (optional). Cut dough as required (a horizontal cut through to the base of the tin on a rectangular tin bread is usual, recommend the blade is dipped in vegetable oil first to allow for clean cut.)
6. Bake as per normal soda bread. For a 730g tin bread bake at 230°C for 45 minutes in a deck oven. Adjust baking time and temperature to suit oven performance and oven type.

    My friend gave me a bag of this as a present this Easter 2020. I like to bake myself so I was unsure about using this however, this bread is fantastic. My two boys love it. My 14 is even making it now. It is a foolproof and delicious bread. An excellent product.

    This bread is so nice and so easy to make. I bought the 5kg bag and we are after getting so many loafs of bread from it. Definitely will buy it again.
    We add the oats on top and it’s a lovely addition.
