Native Purple Wheat Wholemeal Plur (12.5kg)

15.00

Our Purple Wheat Plùr is ideal for those looking to create added value products. Originating in Ethiopia, purple wheat contains anthocyanins which have antioxidant properties. The high protein wheat is grown locally and has a strong wheat flavour. We recommended using a 30% inclusion to 70% strong white for sensational flavour.

An absolute must try! Excellent addition to my rye sourdough bread. Adds on so much flavor. Also great as advised 30% inclusion to 70% strong white. Will order again. Thank you for a prompt delivery.

Hi Hanna, thanks for your comments. They are helpful to other bakers who may be thinking about using Irish grown purple wheat wholemeal in their sour dough bread. Happy baking ! From all in the Kells Team

  2. Karen Graham (verified owner)

My second time buying a bag. We love it. I use in sourdough and our daughter in her soda. Beautiful taste and colour.

Hi Karen, Thanks for your feedback, always good to get an independent opinion to help home bakers, especially those working on sourdough. Purple Wheat Wholemeal also works well in Soda Bread, when mixed with a plain flour, and can be used with a strong white flour in ordinary yeasted bread too. Happy baking from all at Kells.
